Virtual education is defined as education that uses one or more technologies to deliver instruction to students who are separate from the instructor. Typically online school teaches students entirely or primarily through the Internet and supports regular and substantive interaction between the students.

Virtual education is similar to home school but there is one major difference between the two. In homeschooling, the parents act as full-time instructors while in virtual school, teachers manage the student's studies from afar within a structured curriculum.

 

Virtual school can be public or private.
